Privacy policy

Last updated

This policy explains how Barrenore AB collects, uses and protects personal data when you visit barrenore.com or use one of our apps. We collect as little as we can, and we never sell personal data.

01Who is responsible

Barrenore AB (org.nr 559607-3949), Stockholm, Sweden, is the data controller for the personal data described in this policy. You can reach us about anything privacy-related at privacy@barrenore.com.

02What this policy covers

This policy applies to the website barrenore.com and to the mobile apps published by Barrenore AB on Google Play and other app stores. If an app collects data beyond what is described here, the details are listed under that app in “App-specific details”.

03The website

  • Contact form. When you send a message, we receive your name, email address, company name (if you give one) and your message. We use them only to reply and to keep a record of our conversation.
  • Language cookie. If you choose a language, a single cookie named “lang” stores that choice for one year. It is needed for the feature you asked for and is not used for tracking.
  • Technical data. To protect the contact form from abuse, your IP address is held in memory for about ten minutes and is not stored. Our hosting provider may keep standard server logs (such as IP address, time and requested page) for a limited time for security.

The website uses no analytics, advertising or third-party tracking.

04Our apps

Each app is built to collect only the data it needs to work. Depending on the app, this can include:

  • Content you create or enter in the app, such as settings and other data you save.
  • Account information, such as your email address, if the app offers an account.
  • Diagnostics, such as crash reports and performance data, used to find and fix bugs. Diagnostics do not include the content you create.
  • Purchase information. Payments and subscriptions are handled by Google Play. We receive confirmation of a purchase, never your card details.

Data that is stored only on your device stays there unless you choose to export or sync it. Our apps do not show third-party advertising and do not use your data to build advertising profiles.

05App-specific details

No app currently collects data beyond what is described in this policy.

06Why we process data

  • To provide an app or service you have chosen to use. Legal basis: performance of a contract (GDPR art. 6.1 b).
  • To answer your messages and support requests. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in communicating with you (art. 6.1 f).
  • To keep our services secure and fix problems. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in running reliable software (art. 6.1 f).
  • To meet legal obligations, such as bookkeeping rules for purchases. Legal basis: legal obligation (art. 6.1 c).
  • For optional features where we ask for your permission. Legal basis: consent (art. 6.1 a), which you can withdraw at any time.

07Who we share data with

We do not sell personal data. We share it only with service providers that process it on our behalf under a data processing agreement, such as hosting, email and crash-reporting providers, and with Google as the operator of Google Play. We may also disclose data when the law requires it.

08Transfers outside the EU/EEA

We prefer providers that store data within the EU/EEA. If a provider processes data outside the EU/EEA, the transfer is protected by an adequacy decision of the European Commission (such as the EU–US Data Privacy Framework) or by the Commission’s standard contractual clauses.

09How long we keep data

  • Contact form messages and email: up to 24 months after our last contact, unless they become part of a customer relationship.
  • App account data: for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account, we delete the associated data within 30 days, except where the law requires us to keep it.
  • Diagnostics: up to 90 days.
  • Accounting records for purchases: seven years, as required by Swedish bookkeeping law.

10Deleting your data

You can ask us to delete your data, including any app account, by emailing privacy@barrenore.com from the address linked to your account and naming the app. We confirm the request and complete the deletion within 30 days. Data stored only on your device is removed when you uninstall the app.

11Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access your data, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to its processing, and to receive it in a portable format. Contact us at privacy@barrenore.com to use these rights; we reply within one month.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (Integritetsskyddsmyndigheten, imy.se).

12Security

We protect data with encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS), access controls, and by keeping the data we hold to a minimum. If a personal data breach occurs, we notify the authorities and affected users as the law requires.

13Children

Our apps are not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has given us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

14Changes to this policy

We update this policy when our services change. The date at the top shows when it was last updated. For significant changes we also give notice in the affected app or on this page.
